Antibodies, also known as immunoglobulins, large Y-shaped proteins that serve, antigens or foreign targets are to be identified and to remove viruses and bacteria. Each antibody recognizes a specific foreign antigen. This is because the two boards of its "Y" are specific for each antigen so that different antibodies can bind to various foreign antigens.
Antibodies are produced by the immune system in response to the presence of an antigen. Antigens are large molecules, usually proteins on the surface of cells, viruses, fungi, bacteria and some non-living substances such as toxins, chemicals and foreign particles. Any substance that is capable of inducing an immune response is called an antigen.
