Product description: diglycoside secoisolariciresinol or SDG, a Pflanzenlignan, especially in flaxseed (linseed) is found. SDG is classified as a phyto-estrogen, as it is a vegetable, of a nonsteroidal compound having an estrogen-like activity. SGG is converted to the secoisolariciresinol aglycone which is then metabolized to enterolactone and the enterotol Säugetierlignanen. Most of the effects of oral SDG are mediated by enterolactone and enterodiole.
