Stugeron Introduction
It was suggested that the increase in viscosity reducing blood flow in the capillaries, with a consequent improvement of symptoms of patients with peripheral vascular disease. We studied the effect of treatment with drugs allegedly to reduce the viscosity of blood, to test the validity of this claim. Tetra nicotinoyl fructose (Bradilan) oxpentifylline (Trental) and cinnarizine (Stugeron) - viscosity measurements and the speed of the leg blood flow were found in a group of patients and taken after treatment with three different drugs. All patients had lameness in the leg and the distribution of arteriosclerosis was in each patient. After treatment, there was little or no change in blood viscosity is recorded and no change in the flow velocity in symptomatic legs. We found no objective evidence that the use of these drugs in patients with intermittent claudication find support.
